Pour yourself a glass of wine and get ready to join me on an exciting journey through the world of wine! I'm thrilled to announce the launch of my new podcast, The Wineisseur Podcast, now available on Spotify. This was one of my goals for 2023, so I’m so excited to share the news of this new venture with all of you. I’m sure you’re curious about the whys and the whats of my podcast, so I’ll answer a couple of questions about that below. As well, if you’d like to hear the answer in my new audio format, you can listen to my Intro to The Wineisseur Podcast episode below.

If you’re ready to join me on this exciting journey to discover the world of wine - follow my podcast, subscribe to my blog, and let's get started! I’ll be posting episodes weekly, so be sure to stick around for them.

What will the podcast be about?

The Wineisseur Podcast aims to educate wine enthusiasts of all levels about the world of wine by having conversations about wine varieties, wine and food pairings, wine regions, industry news, ways to experience wine, and so much more. So, whether you're a beginner just starting to learn about wine, or an experienced wine lover looking for new and exciting information, this podcast has something for you.

As your Canadian Winesseur, I’ll be hosting this podcast by sharing my insights and experiences from my years in the wine industry and travels to wine regions like Champagne and Porto. As well, I'll give wine reviews, share tips and tricks to elevate your wine experiences, and answer your questions about wine. Similar to my blog, I hope to inspire my viewers to embark on their own wine journey and grow their wine knowledge as I have done for the past couple of years. With over 10,000 wine varieties in the world, there's always something new to learn and explore.

Feel free to submit your wine questions by commenting on this post, emailing me at wineisseur@gmail.com, or filling out my form. I’ll answer them through my podcast and blog!

Why are you starting a podcast?

I started this podcast to make my content more accessible and have more conversations around wine. Wine is meant to be a conversation, and I want to bring that experience to my viewers and listeners through collectively sharing knowledge and experiences. With the growing demand for audio formats like podcasts and audiobooks, it’s clear that the pandemic days are behind us and people want to learn and consume content in convenient, on-the-go ways. By making Wineisseur content available in both written and audio formats, I hope to make learning about wine more easier and enjoyable for everyone.

Moreover, in case you’re wondering whether my podcast and blog will be the same, some of the topics will be the same and have similar content. However, the format of my podcast will be more conversational than my blog and each platform will have its own exclusive content that you can read or listen to whenever, wherever (there's internet).

Lastly, I thought building this podcast would give me the opportunity to get "comfortable with being uncomfortable" by putting myself out of my comfort zone and practicing my public speaking skills. I can admit, recording the intro and 1st episodes were nerve-wracking, so I may sound shaky at first. But I hope to improve through each episode and that you’ll find joy in seeing my progression through the seasons.

What inspired you to start your blog?

I started my blog in February 2020 on a mission to reduce the gap between people with extensive wine knowledge and those with limited knowledge. This gap was very apparent to me early on when I worked in the wine and spirits industry. As well, when I told other people about this problem, they agreed that they noticed the same problem as I did in the Canadian market.

In addition, since working the in the industry, many people have asked me questions about how I started learning about wine and were unsure as to where they can start honing their knowledge. Both the problem and need verified that this problem needed to be solved and that's what I aim to do through my blog. To serve this mission, I wanted to provide simple education and resources to those eager to learn more about wine. My goal was to provide that foundational knowledge that would help my viewers be able to delve more into the complexities of the wine world and inspire them to go on their own journey in wine by sharing my stories of discovering cool things in the wine world. Every time I write a blog or record a podcast, I'm working toward this goal, so I hope you come along on this journey with me!
